-
Sunlight: Plant your Volcano Medley Phlox in a location that receives ample sunlight, ideally six to eight hours per day. This ensures vibrant and long-lasting blooms.
-
Soil: Provide well-draining soil enriched with organic matter. Phlox prefers slightly acidic to neutral soil pH for optimal growth.
-
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry spells. However, avoid waterlogged conditions, as phlox thrives in well-drained soil.
-
Mulching: Apply a layer of mulch around the base of the plant to retain moisture, suppress weeds, and regulate soil temperature.
-
Fertilization: Feed your Volcano Medley Phlox with a balanced, all-purpose fertilizer in early spring. This promotes healthy growth and prolific blooming.
-
Pruning: Trim faded flowers regularly to encourage continuous blooming and maintain a tidy appearance. Additionally, prune the plant in late fall or early spring to promote vigorous growth.
-
Winter Care: In colder climates, provide a layer of mulch to protect the roots during winter. This extra insulation helps the plant endure frosty temperatures.
