Introducing our stunning Volcano Purple with White Eye Phlox – a vibrant burst of color and elegance for your garden! This enchanting perennial is a true gem, showcasing rich purple petals with a striking white eye at the center. Perfect for adding a touch of sophistication to your outdoor space, this Phlox variety is a must-have for any discerning gardener.
Growing Zones: Thriving in USDA hardiness zones 4 to 8, the Volcano Purple with White Eye Phlox is adaptable to a variety of climates. Whether you're in the cooler northern regions or the milder southern areas, this resilient plant will grace your garden with its mesmerizing blooms.
Basic Care Tips:
-
Sunlight: Plant your Phlox in a location that receives at least 6 hours of sunlight per day. Full sun to partial shade is ideal for optimal growth and abundant blooms.
-
Soil: Ensure well-draining soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0-7.0). Phlox appreciates fertile soil, so enrich it with organic matter like compost for best results.
-
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry spells. Water at the base of the plant to prevent foliage diseases. Avoid overwatering, as Phlox prefers slightly drier conditions over waterlogged soil.
-
Pruning: Deadhead spent blooms regularly to encourage continuous flowering throughout the growing season. Trim back the stems in late fall to promote a bushier shape and prepare the plant for winter.
-
Fertilization: Feed your Phlox with a balanced, all-purpose fertilizer in spring, and again in early summer. Follow package instructions for application rates.
-
Mulching: Apply a layer of mulch around the base of the plant to retain soil moisture, suppress weeds, and regulate temperature.
